Jessica Caporizzo

The things that we do to cultivate joy and stability are what help us lead more meaningful lives and engage in our communities. This is why Jessica Caporizzo is passionate about empowering pianists and yoga practitioners to thrive - whether on stage or on the mat.

Jessica started piano at a young age, but sports also competed for her time and attention. She was driven by the physical momentum in training and the thrill of the moment in each game.  When her love of piano was re-ignited in high school, she discovered that same momentum and thrill in the art of performing onstage, and decided to pursue music as a career. She entered college with passion and potential, but would encounter head-on the physical, technical, and mental demands required to really own her playing.

Two spinal surgeries brought her musical studies to a halt. But what felt like a huge setback, became the catalyst for a more holistic journey: studying the mind and the body, and discovering the connection between physical awareness and artistic mastery. 

• She learned that practice starts in the mind and began studying visualization and other forms of mental practice.

• She learned that practicing was not a list of checkboxes, but a thoughtful feedback loop about body awareness and grounded observation.

​

• She learned that progress rarely means moving forward in a straight line.

​

• And she learned that her identity had to be grounded in more than performance image and "success."

Now, as a pianist, teacher, and yoga instructor, Jessica works with each of her students to build a learning experience that supports their individual needs, cultivates self-awareness, and builds confidence.
